HISTORY
Artist Sonofrio Y Mendoza has been Cee's closest mentor, providing him with much of guidance and inspiration which has helped to shape his talents to the point where he is now recognized as one of the fines portraits of the Juan Ponce Enrile Family, Ramon Cojuangcom Freddie Aguilar and Mr & Mrs. Joe Guingona.
What was written by Mercy S Tolentino about Cee's style of painting many years ago applies equally well today. In her article, she said
"one of the your practioner of consequence of magic or poetic realism in the country is Cee Cadid. He formally picked up the rudiments of art at the University of East but underwent a more rigid training with the Plein-air painters known as the Dimasalang Group. Notably from the landscapists Sofronio "Sym" Mendoza and Romulo Galicano.
Cadid is often Fasinated not so much with the remains of the past as the portrayal of a few things that roll back the years only a little further. For instance, Cee Cadid would paint an honest rendering of a simple kitchen with crude stoves, pots against a lattice-work bamboo wall. The composition, the relevant details that are present, might remind you of a snapshot at a glance. but Cadid's interpretation transcends photographic realism.
Realism is a transgression against the flat and the plain, it makes a leap of profound vision and for Cadid it weaves a story as well"
